"Asymetrical
Billard" This
is a pipe I wanted for at least one and a half year. Peter Matzhold made
a pipe with this shape and displayed it on his homepage. As I saw this
pipe I knew I have to buy it or if I couldn't afford it I have to try carving
a pipe like that for myself.
Now after more than a year waiting for a piece of Briar to show up I was successfull. Peter showed me the Block and my eyes started to glow :-) I wasn't able to see the original pipe but I had every detail in my brain. I often studied the lines and of it and then I begun to carve. The Briar is fantastic - stunning - oooh.. what a piece !! The shape is not easy to make and it took me VERY long to get throug of it and to finish. I asked Peter to use his stain, polishing and Carnauba to finish this pipe. And now here it is. I must say I am "very" proud of this one and I nerver thought I could get this one out of the wood. What do you think ?? |
